Press Release Body: California personal injury law firm Bisnar Chase's blog posting has led to the arrest of Kelly Marie Sandoval, a suspect in a January 31, 2008 hit-and-run accident in Corona, Calif. that left a Massachusetts man with severe brain damage and 19 broken bones. According to the Corona Police Department, Sandoval was charged on July 1st with felony hit-and-run and driving on a suspended license. The law firm's blog, www.californiainjuryblog.com, carried a February posting with the details of the accident.
On January 31, 2008, Massachusetts man David Derosier was crossing East Rincon Street in Corona, Calif., when he was struck by a Honda Accord that momentarily stopped and then sped up, fleeing the scene of the accident.
According to John Bisnar, founder and partner of Bisnar Chase, an informant who had heard about the case called him on June 30. Before contacting Bisnar and going to police, this informant had searched the Internet to find out additional details, so the proper authorities could be contacted. The informant discovered Bisnar Chase's February 4, 2008 blog entry at www.californiainjuryblog.com .
Bisnar said that the informant emailed his law firm with information where to find the suspect and followed-up with phone calls to the law firm after speaking with the Corona Police Department.
Bisnar and Officer Matthew McDonald of the Corona Police Department discussed the case, over the phone. McDonald later confirmed the arrest of Sandoval with Bisnar.
"We are gratified that we played a part in identifying the hit-and-run driver," said John Bisnar. "But the credit goes to the informant, a courageous public citizen, and to the professionals of the Corona Police Department for making the arrest."
